Can I Use Pal Tiya Premium In Aquariums, Fish Tanks And Ponds?

Pal Tiya Premium was designed specifically for the creation of large outdoor statuary and sculptures. It was never envisaged to be used with aquatic life in a sealed environment.

We do not recommend that Pal Tiya Premium is used for environments where fish and other marine life habit.

There is a range of research out there on the creation of man made rocks for aquariums etc. We are not able to provide information on this subject as we are not specialized in this niche field.

Pal Tiya Premium can still be used for birdbaths, water features, etc. - the brief nature of wildlife interactions is no different to water stored in a puddle on a cement sidewalk or pavement. Non-aquatic life are not 'breathing' the water that surrounds

However; there are some methods of reducing cement based products to a PH level that is safe for marine life.

We do not endorse or guarantee any of these methods outlines below. We provide them as a guideline for your own experiments in this area.

How long does it take to cure to a safe PH?
To assure that the Pal Tiya Premium sculpture does not increase the levels above a maximum of 8 PH, in both Salt water and Fresh, it can take months depending on the technique used. Here are three possible avenues, depending on the time and commitment level you have.
If you choose to pursue this you will need to purchase a PH kit from your local aquarium. 4 drops of formula and a few seconds will confirm if your sculpture is completely safe at the end of each cure.
Possible Method One -  Difficulty  Easy - 4 months in elapsed time
Place your PTP sculpture in a container of fresh water at least 10 times it's volume. Change the water every 7 days for 15 weeks. For the final 16th week, change the water every other day. Check the final PH. If the level is at or under 8 for two consecutive days, it is safe. Hard or Soft water can change these results.  Check the PH.
Possible  Method Two - Difficulty Medium - 2.5 months  in elapsed time
Place your PTP sculpture in a container of Fresh water at least 10 times it's volume. Change the water every week for the first 6 weeks. Then change to curing in Salt water. (1/2 cup un-iodized rock salt and 1 TBSP Epsom Salts in a 20 liter/5 gallon pail) Cure for two weeks, changing out the water each week. After this return to Fresh water and let sit for one more week. Check the PH.
Possible Method Three - Difficulty Hard - 6 weeks in elapsed time
Place your PTP sculpture in a container of Fresh water at least 10 times it's volume. Prepare an Airstone aeration pump to run continually through the whole process. Change the water every week for two weeks. Then change to Salt Water (see above) for two more weeks. Return to Fresh water for 1 week. Check the PH.
